I love this recipe. I can not get enough of it. You can leave some ingredients out or add more of other things in and this recipe would still work. This has become my breakfast smoothie but I hate “breakfast” so I mentally deemed this my morning dessert smoothie. To me 575 calories seems high for a smoothie. I’ve been keeping all my smoothies between 200-350 calories for years but this 575 calorie smoothie is flawless. I love the taste, texture and find it extremely satiating. I’ll drink this first thing when I get up then I’m rock solid forever. Since I’m marketing this as a “protein” recipe I’ll give you the macro breakdown. For 575 calories you get 28.4 g protein, 12.7 g fat & 96 g carbs. Plus 17 g fiber, almost 30% of your daily potassium, 19% iron & 90% calcium. I swear hemp seeds make my skin glow. I love you drink.
2 cups unsweetened almond milk (60 calories), 2 chopped/frozen banana (240 grams), 1 TB agave (20 grams), 1 TB cocoa powder (5 grams), 1 TB hemp seeds (10 grams), 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (23 grams), .25 cup oatmeal (20 grams)
*I freeze large bunches of chopped frozen bananas at a time. I divide them into bags of 240 grams and freeze them.
- Pour 2 cups of almond milk into blender
- Break up the frozen banana chunks and blend with almond milk
- Once bananas and almond milk are smooth add 1 TB cocoa powder, 1 TB agave, 1 TB hemp seeds, 1 scoop of protein powder & 20 grams of oatmeal (more cocoa powder is better)
- Blend well! ENJOY
